The first quarter of 2023 has been an exciting time for Digital Samba Embedded users, as we've introduced several new features and improvements to enhance your virtual meeting experience.
In this blog post, we'll cover the top features introduced in Q1, including captions, raise hand functionality, virtual backgrounds, improved documentation, and the addition of various SDK events and methods.
1. Captions (transcriptions)
(Available from 13 March 2023)
Our new captions feature makes virtual meetings more accessible and easier to follow by providing real-time transcriptions of the active speaker's talk. Integrators can enable or disable captions, choose the default speaking language, and select between 'live speech' and 'end of speech' auto-transcription modes.
Participants can also adjust the captions font size and panel position for optimal readability. Read more about the new feature here.
2. Raise hand functionality
(Available from 12 February 2023)
The raise hand feature, now available in Digital Samba Embedded, allows participants to take turns speaking without disrupting sessions. This feature can be enabled or disabled in the Room and Team settings, ensuring that your meetings remain as interactive and engaging as you'd like.
3. Virtual backgrounds
(Available from 12 February 2023)
Add some personality and security to your virtual meetings with the new Virtual Backgrounds feature. Participants can now choose from a preset collection of backgrounds to block out private spaces, making your meetings more visually engaging and secure.
4. Comprehensive Documentation
(Available from 27 March 2023)
We've compiled all our Digital Samba Embedded documentation and guides in one location, providing developers with a complete reference for integrating Digital Samba Embedded into their websites and workflows. Find our Embedded SDK, REST API, and Dashboard documentation at https://docs.digitalsamba.com/.
5. Additional SDK Events and Methods
(Available from 18 January 2023)
Throughout Q1, we've added several SDK events and methods to improve the functionality and user experience of Digital Samba Embedded. These additions include:
- An SDK event to identify the active speaker when it changes.
- SDK methods to switch between tiled and auto modes.
- SDK events for local users switching between tiled and auto modes.
- SDK methods to show and hide the toolbar.
