This spring, we have some special news since we at Digital Samba, the Barcelona-based company behind the popular video conferencing API Digital Samba Embedded, are excited to announce a new free version of our video call software. This version can be used without embedding and is designed for non-technical end users who simply want to make secure video calls – or who prefer to use European technology providers.
Following the successful launch of Digital Samba Embedded in 2022 – now integrated into hundreds of European applications– we’ve decided to offer a European alternative to Zoom and Teams. End users can now easily create video meeting links on the go. Digital Samba runs in the browser, meaning there’s no need to create user profiles or accounts to start a video meeting. All you need is a meeting link or URL, which opens directly in a browser of your choice and connects you with whoever you’ve shared the link with.
When designing this free version, we tried to make creating a video call as easy as we could possibly imagine, and once you’ve joined, it comes packed with all the standard video conferencing and virtual classroom features you'd expect. Early adopters of Digital Samba Free are using it for secure psychotherapy sessions, to give online language classes, business meetings, or simply to stay in touch with friends and family, as a replacement to Skype, Zoom, Google Meet, MS Teams & co.
“Wow, impressive product”, “I love it”, “super nice and neat” and “thank you for providing a European alternative” are just some of the feedback we have received so far.
We recognise the growing desire for digital sovereignty, and that’s why we’re making our software available to anyone who values privacy and security. As a European company, we offer a fully GDPR-compliant solution, hosted on infrastructure owned by European providers, and using only European subprocessors.
We’re proud to announce that we’ll soon be launching Digital Samba FREE – a platform made for everyone who wants to start and make video calls with just one click. We invite you to sign up and be among the first to get early access.
