Digital Samba 637 - Pinned Panels

Explore what's new in Digital Samba 637! This release adds pinned panels, allowing chat, Q&A, participant list and more to be fixed on screen and shown to everyone during a session. WHIP simulcast quality selection for better video control over external broadcast sources, and bulk content close for clearing multiple items at once. Digital Samba Embedded Dashboard and API

New Features
  • Added a new room setting for pinned panels, configurable through the dashboard and API.
  • Added a new permission for pinned panels, allowing role-based control over who can pin panels.
  • Added a room setting for the connection quality indicator.
  • Added a CSV export option for chat in the dashboard and via API.
  • Added a 30-day option for recording link expiry.
  • Added webhook events for hand raised and hand lowered status changes.
  • Added an SDK frame attribute to override the join screen setting, allowing the embed to control whether the join screen is shown.

In-Room

New Features
  • Added pinned panels, allowing chat, Q&A, participant list and more to be pinned and automatically shown to all attendees alongside shared content. 
  • Added quality layer selection for WHIP streams when simulcast is available, enabling better video quality control for external broadcast sources.

  • Added bulk close for opened content items, allowing participants to close multiple documents, whiteboards, and presentations at once.

  • Added a local connection quality indicator that displays real-time network status directly in the session interface.

  • Added participant name attribution to emoji reactions, so participants can see who reacted with each emoji.
  •  Added bulk screenshare and whiteboard privilege controls to the in-room environment.
  • Added an enhancement to public chat export, providing TXT and CSV files within a single ZIP download.
Fixed
  • Fixed an issue where excessive internal state updates on mouse movement over video tiles caused performance degradation.
  • Fixed an issue where flag emojis were displayed as letter initials instead of flag images in the emoji picker on Windows.
  • Fixed an issue where a virtual background selected in a breakout room remained highlighted after returning to the main room.

Digital Samba Free

  • Added the ability to create call links with a selected call type (e.g. Meeting, Webinar, Classroom) without scheduling a date and time, with optional expiry or indefinite access when no expiry is set.
  • Added a confirmation message after saving a scheduled call, confirming that the meeting was saved and invitations were sent to participants. 
  • Added the meeting title to the invitation email subject and body.
  • Added Dutch language translation to the dashboard and emails.
