Digital Samba 627 - My Templates

Discover what’s new in Digital Samba 627! This release introduces the new "My Templates" feature for polls and quizzes, making it easier to prepare, reuse, and share content across sessions with a single click. We’ve also expanded limits for poll answers and usernames, introduced a new SDK event to support custom dial-in pages on failed connections, and delivered important fixes. New Features

  • Added a new permission to manage personal poll templates, supported through the dashboard and API.

  • Fixed an issue where hidden questions were incorrectly included in Q&A exports for attendees.

In-Room

New Features

  • Added support for creating and saving polls and quizzes under the "My Templates" tab. Templates are private and can be reused across different sessions, allowing participants to carry their setups with them wherever they join. With a single click on "Add to Room", a poll or quiz is instantly generated from "My Template" and placed in the "Room" tab, where it becomes available for everyone in the session and from where it can be launched.
  • Increased maximum length for poll answer choice text, now up to 255 characters.
  • Increased the allowed username length up to 150 characters.
  • Added a new SDK event that allows showing custom screens on connection failure.

Fixed

  • Fixed a Safari issue where video initialisation failed when blur was set in the SDK. The blur setting is now ignored on Safari and the video stream works as expected.
  • Fixed an issue where the camera became blocked in the Edge browser when granting audio and video permission to an attendee. The camera now works as expected.
  • Fixed an issue in the Vivaldi browser where audio and video remained blocked in the room if they had been denied on the join screen. They can now be turned on as expected.

Digital Samba Free

  • Added the new "My templates" feature for polls and quizzes. Users can now create and store polls and quizzes under "My Templates", carry them from call to call, or launch them in the same call. With a single click on "Add to Room", a poll or quiz is generated from the selected template and added to the "Room" tab, where it becomes available for all users in the session and can be launched from there.
  • Added temporary share links for recordings with expiry options, instant copy, and easy revocation. Access via the recordings section using the three-dot menu and copy link.
  • Added an export option in the history section to download chat, polls, Q&A, and transcriptions. The button activates automatically when exportable data is available.
  • Added the ability to edit call end time duration manually, making it possible to schedule even shorter calls.
  • Added a "Stay logged in" option on the main login page, allowing users to remain signed in without re-entering their credentials each time they access the platform.
