Digital Samba 614 - Shared Notes

Discover the latest in Digital Samba 614 with a brand-new Shared notes feature that lets participants collaborate live right from the session toolbar. Moderators now have greater control, deciding who can edit or just view notes, making teamwork smoother and more organised. Plus, breakout rooms created ad hoc show localised names for a more natural experience. We’ve also fixed several bugs to keep your sessions running smoothly.

New Features

  • Added a new room setting, 'Shared notes', available in both default and specific room settings. When enabled, a notes panel becomes accessible during the session.
  • Moderators can now choose whether someone can collaborate in notes or just simply view them, offering more control over how content is shared and edited. Please visit our documentation.

In-Room

New Features

  • Participants can now access shared notes during a session by clicking the notes icon in the toolbar. The panel opens to the latest note or a blank page, allowing real-time collaboration with formatting tools for better organisation. Content auto-saves regularly, and full feature access is determined by role permissions. No more juggling between external apps, just smooth, live collaboration! Everything you need, right within Digital Samba.
  • Breakout rooms created ad hoc now display localised names instead of fixed defaults, so for example, instead of “Room 1” you will see “Raum 1” in German and the appropriate translation in other languages we support.

Fixed

  • Fixed an issue where recordings didn’t fully use the available space when tiles were hidden, so content now fills the layout as expected.
  • Fixed an issue in Chrome on windows where the speakers dropdown was shown empty by default under audio settings on the join screen.
  • Fixed an issue where using the "Push" button didn’t autoplay YouTube videos for other participants or resume correctly when participants returned to the pushed tab, ensuring videos now play automatically and stay in sync for everyone.
  • Fixed an issue where YouTube playback wasn’t synchronised between participants when switching between content, so videos now stay in sync.
  • Fixed an issue where opening any content inside a breakout room caused an empty whiteboard tab to open automatically. Now only the selected content opens, keeping the workspace clean.
  • Fixed an issue where exporting the whiteboard from mobile browsers caused drawings and images to disappear on iOS and led to crashes on Android when exporting PNGs, ensuring exports now work reliably across devices.
  • Fixed an issue where custom tiles were missing expected actions, so participants can now pin, expand, and access custom actions on these tiles.
