Digital Samba Embedded

Dashboard and API

New Features

  • We launched our new support page dedicated to our Embedded product. This dedicated page will enable our Support team to quickly and accurately identify requests related to the Embedded product, ensuring a more tailored and efficient service for our customers.
  • Made a small improvement to the Signup page by grouping the two required options at the top and letting the non-required one read next.
  • We added a new 'Custom logo' setting to the default room settings. Customers in our paid plans may now display their own organisations' logos in rooms and recordings.
  • We added the option to rename recordings to the Recordings page. Team members may now give custom names to the listed recordings, which should help other team members better identify them.
  • We revamped the 'Upgrade to the Create plan', 'Verify your email' and 'Reset password' auto emails with a modernised layout. Additionally, we created the new 'Downgrade to the free plan' email and set it to be automatically be sent to account owners when they downgrade their account to the free plan.
  • Standardised the Roles page layout by moving the 'create new role' button to the top and making it sticky.
  • We updated the name of our former 'Meetings' plan as 'Create' plan.
  • Moved the 'Export usage' button down to a more relevant location to make UX more intuitive.
  • We updated the Webhooks description to include recordings-related events.

New Features

  • We improved the design of our 'raise hand' badge with a more comfortable size and location on participant tiles, reducing the chance of them partially covering faces.
  • We improved the E2EE modal design when the appearance is set to 'dark' to ensure good readability of the code.

Fixed

  • We fixed an issue experienced by users on the Join screen when their name had been input via SDK with an invalid value, causing it to disrupt the experience. With this fix, should a user's name contain an invalid value, this would not prevent them from giving them the opportunity to correct it and join the session.
  • Our team fixed an issue that was manifesting when pulling the drag handle all the way to the left: previously, participants would see part of their coloured circle with their initials showing behind (around) the pinned tile. Now with this fix, the layout renders correctly and no part of such element is shown.
  • We fixed an issue occurring to iOS users in Safari, where tapping on the 'Test audio' button available in the 'Audio' tab of the 'Audio & video settings' modal in the Join screen returned no playback. Participants on iOS Safari may now hear their test recording playing back, as intended.
  • We fixed the underlying issue that was causing participants to get stuck in the Join screen when submitting for the second time when validation had been triggered already.

Samba Live

Account Center

New Features

  • Introducing a new functionality into our Whiteboard 2: Presenters now have the ability to control the visibility of their own cursor to other participants in the room. This new feature complements the existing capability that allows participants to show or hide other participants' cursors in their view.

Fixed

  • We fixed an issue wherein the title of the modal that pops up when requesting to bulk-update users in the participants list was not being localised.

New Features

We have improved UX in Whiteboard 2 by introducing a new feature that remembers the last selected colour for both the fill and outline of any object. Now, when users create new objects, the previously selected colour will be automatically applied, saving time and providing a seamless experience.
