Digital Samba Embedded, Dashboard and API
New Features
Added a new "Clear content" permission in the dashboard and API, allowing moderators to remove all in-room content permitted for use during a session. Check our documentation.
In-Room
New Features
Added the ability for participants to permanently delete specific types of in-room content from the workspace settings panel. Content types can include chat messages, public room files, shared files, whiteboards, shared notes, Q&A entries, and poll results (votes). Personal "My files" remain unaffected.
Added the option to copy files between "My files" and "Room files" from the three-dot menu in the Content Library. This creates a duplicate of the file in the chosen location.
Added the breakout room name to the top bar UI, making it clearly visible when a participant enters a breakout room.
Increased the input limit for Q&A entries. Questions and answers can now be up to 500 characters long.
Added an SDK property to hide the top bar elements, allowing greater control over customising the room interface - useful for smaller devices like mobile.
Fixed
Fixed an occasional issue where participants were unable to connect to a conference without refreshing the page. The root cause was a race condition between SDK initialisation and the API validation call, likely triggered when Virtual Background was disabled.
Fixed an issue where participant cameras could randomly turn off during sessions. Early signs suggest this may be linked to a known Chrome bug (“Timeout starting video source”). We’ve improved logging and reduced getUserMedia calls to minimise its impact while we continue to monitor and confirm the root cause.
Fixed a UI issue on Mac OS browsers that caused the “Broadcast message” button label to wrap onto two lines, resulting in an oversized button. The label now displays correctly on a single line.
Fixed an issue where the “Add content” options did not work when the Shared folder was open. Actions like uploading files or creating new content now function as expected.
Fixed an issue where the "Download" option was missing in the Content Library on mobile browsers. Users can now download files from the context menu as expected.
Fixed an issue where the "Play sound on lobby join" setting was visible to attendees. It is now correctly limited to moderators.
Fixed the screen filter dropdown overlapping shared screen tiles in the “All Screens” layout, ensuring a clearer view when multiple screens are shared.
Fixed an issue where zoom controls and the close content button were affected by dark mode or custom branding colours, making them difficult to see.
Fixed an issue where an empty Stream tab was automatically opened in breakout rooms after starting a WHIP stream and opening content in the main room.
