Spanish Traffic Ministry contract Digital Samba to develop Flash-based Traffic Flow Monitoring System
Madrid – 01.03.04. Digital Samba has been partnering with Spain’s Traffic Ministry to implement a Traffic Flow Monitoring System across Spain, based on Macromedia’s Flash Communication Server framework. Following a 9-month scoping and prototyping period, Digital Samba’s TXE solution will initially be rolled out in Madrid, Valencia, Zaragoza, Sevilla, La Coruña, Valladolid and Málaga with a view to expanding across all of Spain in a phased approach.
TXE uses an innovative presence-control mechanism developed specifically for this client, allowing traffic control centers to broadcast traffic camera feeds from a central matrix to each other. TXE also includes easy to use video-conferencing mode which allows traffic officials to comment and discuss the traffic situation whilst sharing traffic camera feeds. Following rigorous testing and optimisation both the traffic camera feeds and the video conferencing feeds run over bundled ISDN networks.
